In town traveling for business - when traveling, dine in local restaurants. This one will not disappoint. Two sides to restaurant - main dining room or the lounge. I at in the lounge. Very cozy vibe with plenty of local regulars in atrendance. Peppercorn Strip steak was well prepared and full of flavor. Give them a try.
First, let me state that the waitress was phenomenal. She was very receptive to our large party’s request. The atmosphere inside the restaurant has a comfy, home-like Italian feel to it. I agree with another reviewer though, having a sign in your restaurant that says, “Be patient, no one wants to work anymore.” is EXTREMELY tacky. Everyone has the same issues with regards to Post- Covid. Now, as far as the food, appetizers were hit and miss. The zucchini sticks were amazingly long pieces, but underwhelmingly undercooked. There was no crisp to the pieces. The stuffed banana peppers were the highlight of the meal for me! Delicious and had a nice heat to the pepper. Now, unfortunately the peppercorn steak, was almost inedible :/ Partly my fault for reading the menu incorrectly, but a peppercorn crusted steak usually has some peppercorns attached to it. My steak was drowned in the creamy sauce, making the steak soggy, yes soggy. Hopefully they scale back the sauce on the steak. It is a local place, and they have been in business forever, so the regulars are going to be regulars. Just make sure
you read over the menu, and if you have requests the friendly wait staff is very accommodating.
I'll start by mentioning the only good thing about our experience the service. Our server was extremely nice and attentive. Now comes the bad and there was a lot. To begin with before even entering the restaurants a sign is posted stating that no one wants to work anymore (see attached picture) as someone who had made a career out of the hospitality industry this strikes me as extremely disrespectful. In my personal experience the reason a small business loses their staff is always due to management. Those at the top need to take responsibility for their own staffing issues and acknowledge that if they can't keep staff it is systemic problems within the establishment. Second the food was extremely poorly prepared. I like to believe this was due to understaffing in the kitchen and probably more likely the management forcing the kitchen to use sub par ingredients due to cost. All our dishes were bland as could be and extremely watery. Finally, and I cannot emphasize this enough this restaurant clearly has a strong history in the area and has the potential to come back if management, mainly the owner, chooses to listen to their staff rather then blaming others. I really don't want to see a small business fail, but it was clear from the moment I walked in that the issues they are currently struggling with come from the top and unless something changes we will see this establishment fail.
Very good Italian food pretty good prices. The hill farm is really good they have a great, basically a fried pepperoni roll they're salads with Italian dressing and gorgonzola cheese is really good their pizzas are really good. They have really good cheese raviolis as well. Pretty much most of their food is great
The food is very good. The fried zucchini is top notch. The veal parm was also very good. My kids has spaghetti and meatballs - the meatballs were humongous and delicious. Their ravioli is a winner!
The restaurant needs updating. It’s pretty dated in there. They had numerous signs informing us they were short staffed and asked us to be patient with our server. When we were seated the host told us this twice. There were so many signs that it lowered my expectation of the place. I kept thinking this was going to be a horrible meal. And I was pleasantly surprised.
Our waiter was excellent even with 3 large party tables. He didn’t miss a beat.
I felt the multiple signs and numerous warning were a bit much. I probably would have enjoyed my meal more if they didn’t keep telling me it wasn’t good to be a good experience.
Great food! Large portions compliment the tasty, high-quality food they serve. We ordered shrimp, which were by far the largest I've had. The soup was a corn chowder crab. I was very pleased with the taste and portion of crab. Highly recommend this establishment. Additionally, the service was outstanding, and the table helpers were very attentive to ensuring a clean eating environment.
Just ate there tonight and let me tell you! WE WILL BE BACK!! Absolutely delicious and their sauce was like my grandmother used to make and she was from Italy. I had the Pasta Don Diabalo and my wife had the Homemade Manicotti • Both these dishes were top notch winners! The Pasta I had was wonderfully spicy and the pepper flavor with the sauce was too good for words. My wife so enjoyed the delicious and soft like a cloud manicotti stuffed shells. Then we shared a pecan ball with caramel and whipped cream. I had to write a review it was all so very wonderful. Service was excellent as well.
Update 1/25/20 - Ate there again and food was SOOOOO delicious and the service we received from Michelle J was outstanding! We will be back! See pics - I had the Linguine Don Diablo and my wife had the Chicken Parmesan - Just over the top delicious.
Update 11/13/21 - Just ate there again and still loving it so very much. I had the Linguine Diablo and my wife had the Shrimp Scampi - Delicious. Added 2 new pictures.
This is my new go to place when in the area. Been there 3 times now and every time the food & desserts are delicious, ample, high value. Service is warm, attentive, gracious. A friendly vibe that tells me customers are appreciated.
